Our trip South via Hatteras

We left Rhode Island on Thursday October 27th and spent the night near Dover Delaware. That night the temps dropped to below 30 and a major storm moved into Connecticut.

Couper family plot in Norfolk Virginia - my great grandad sculpted this angel.
The next day was Friday and we stopped in Norfolk to see the family. It was a cold day and suitably stormy with a somber sky.

That evening we made it to Nags Head and spent the weekend with Debbie and Bear who are friends of ours from Delray Beach. Great fun with them and some wild kitesurfing in the ocean, in the sound and then a long down winder from Kill Devil Hills to Buxton.

The ocean off of Hatteras while the snow was flying further north.

Bear & Debbie - beautiful Sunday but cold - The cowboys lost that day despite the good luck shirt.

Nancy, Laura and Tim Bryan
It was then off to Charleston to visit Tim and Laura at their new house. We saw Bob and Anne Whittemore as well. What a great area to live.
